Aegea Saneamento won, this Friday (29), the dispute for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) promoted by Companhia Riograndense de Saneamento (Corsan).

The administrative concession will allow the execution of infrastructure works in sanitary sewage, improvements, maintenance and operation of the systems, as well as the execution of commercial programs in the management of the hydrometer park and the correction of inadequacies.

It will be Aegea’s first performance in Rio Grande do Sul, benefiting more than 1.5 million people with our services. There will be 9 cities in Rio Grande do Sul served: Alvorada, Cachoeirinha, Canoas, Eldorado do Sul, Esteio, Gravataí, Guaíba, Sapucaia do Sul and Viamão, municipalities in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre.

The 35-year contract provides for an increase in sewage coverage to 87.3% in up to 11 years and has an investment estimate of R $ 1.8 billion. It will be the largest sanitation PPP project in the country.

The auction was held at B3, the São Paulo stock exchange, and was attended by two other companies.

“We congratulate Corsan for the initiative. We believe that partnerships like this are essential for the evolution of sanitation in Brazil, which still has alarming realities. Aegea is pleased to be able to contribute to the universalization of sanitation in the region, bringing more health, dignity and quality of life to the local population, says Rogério Tavares, Vice President of Institutional Relations at Aegea.
