Aegea Saneamento is one of the companies participating in the evaluation panel of the first edition of the iIMPACT project, developed by Innovation Latam in partnership with Fundação Dom Cabral to map and accredit startups in Latin America that generate social impact in the region.

“It is a responsibility and, at the same time, an opportunity to evaluate startup projects aimed at the Sustainable Development Goals, because like Aegea, these initiatives promote innovation, generate relevant social impacts and disseminate sustainability actions. The participation of startups helps companies and governments in this process of incorporating innovative thinking ”, says Marco Aurélio Silva, manager of Efficiency and Technology at Aegea.

Innovation Latam is an online platform that operates in the startup ecosystem to connect these companies with other diverse players. For the project, companies that have proven to have a social impact will receive the iIMPACT seal that certifies their adherence to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), defined by the UN.

The project received the registration of more than 500 startups from all over Latin America and, to select the startups, Innovation Latam will count on a team of specialists from different areas and companies. Aegea will be represented by the Manager of Efficiency and Technology, Marco Aurélio Silva and the company’s consultant, Guilherme Paschoal. The examining board will also comprise 40 other executives from companies such as IBM, Grant Thornton, MRV Engenharia, Dow, Electrolux, Gerdau, Oracle, Amazon, Bradesco, Cubo-Itaú, Saque-Pague, among others.

“At the end of this whole process, we will have a more integrated ecosystem, as startups that hold the iIMPACT seal will be more easily found by both companies and investors,” says João Pedro Brasileiro, founder of the Innovation Latam platform.

Aegea Saneamento believes and invests in innovative actions in sanitation to provide more dignified and healthy lives and seeks the best tools to offer a service focused on continuous improvement of the operation, respecting the peculiarities and the sustainable cycle of each region, with environmental commitment and social.
