Saber Faz Bem (Knowledge is Good)

The Prolagos Environmental Education Program Saber Faz Bem is implemented in schools, universities, neighborhood associations, churches and NGOs to sensitize students and residents about the need to preserve the environmental and cultural resources for future generations and the importance of sustainable development for our society. Through interactive lectures, while respecting the diversity and contributing to the reduction of social inequalities, Saber Faz Bem has reached more than 26,000 people in the company’s concession area, comprising the cities of Arraial do Cabo, Buzios, Cabo Frio, Iguaba Grande and São Pedro da Aldeia, since it was launched in 1998.

In addition to lectures on O Caminho da Água, Saneamento é Saúde and Educação para o Consumo, the Saber Faz Bem program is also developed with guided visits to the units of the Concessionaire as water and sewage treatment plants; at public events; global action task forces; scientific forums and fairs; partnership with local governments, Lagos São João Intermunicipal Consortium and the Lagos São João Basins Committee.

The initiative served as the foundation on what Prolagos started the construction of its investment policy on environmental responsibility, seeking a form of management that is defined by the ethical and transparent relationship of the company with all the audiences it relates with and setting corporate goals that drive the sustainable development of society, preserving environmental and cultural resources for future generations, respecting diversity and contributing to the reduction of social inequalities.
